Although Fern has learned much from her training in Kripalu, Ashtanga, Esther Meyers/Scaravelli, Viniyoga, and Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, more recently, she has been pursuing training and certification in Anusara (a-nu-SAR-a) yoga, which seems to bring together the best aspects of everything she has studied so far. She has been introducing it into her classes and intends to move more and more in that direction. Anusara is a style of yoga developed by John Friend and means 'flowing with grace'. Anusara Yoga is described as heart-oriented, spiritually inspiring, yet grounded in a deep knowledge of outer- and inner-body alignment. Each student's abilities and limitations are deeply respected and honoured.
